On 22 May 2025, Peter Csoklich was elected President of the Vienna Bar Association by the Plenary Assembly. He succeeds Michael Rohregger in this position.
Peter Csoklich is an attorney and founding partner of DSC Doralt Seist Csoklich. He has been a member of the Vienna Bar Association's Executive Committee since 1997. In addition, he has served as Chair of the Working Group on International Professional Law of the Austrian Bar since 2010. He is a co-editor of the leading Austrian legal journal Juristische Blätter and a member of various legal commissions and associations.
A doctor of law (University of Vienna) and graduate in Social and Economic Sciences (Vienna University of Economics and Business, WU Wien), Peter Csoklich worked for several years as a university assistant at the Institute for Business Law at WU Wien before entering legal practice. He has been a university lecturer at WU Wien since 1983, teaching Civil Law, Commercial and Securities Law, and International Transport Law. In 2010, he was appointed Honorary Professor. In addition to his academic role, he is a regular speaker and a widely published and respected legal author.
