The DSC partner offers insights into key legal issues arising from clause decisions in banking law.
Stricter regulations for short-term rentals have been in force in Vienna since July 2024. The amendment to the Vienna Building Code aims to secure affordable housing for Viennese residents. One key point is the requirement for platforms such as Airbnb to obtain a permit, which is particularly important in certain residential zones.
In her article, Antonia Rosenauer sheds light on the new legal requirements for short-term rentals and shows what conditions will apply to landlords in the future. She also explains how the City of Vienna wants to ensure that the new regulations are implemented consistently by exchanging data with tax authorities.
Rosenauer also addresses another important innovation: the introduction of a fee exemption for land register entries for the purchase of residential property for owner-occupation. This measure is intended to facilitate access to property for first-time buyers in particular and stimulate the housing market.
